This will be Lucent’s first appearance in 2012 and their first collaboration with world-renowned, large-scale artists, Herakut and will be a whole new kind of show that spills off of the stage and into the audience.

Lucent is excited to bring Herakut’s blend of multimedia live art to The Palace to once again create a mystical alternate reality for us all to play and get silly in…

postapocalyptic warriors slither down from the sky on aerial silks.
Sooty urchins of the Great Plague dance hypnotically. At a Lucent
Dossier show you experience a world that doesn’t exist, a place where
the future and the past happen simultaneously, as if under some
metaphorical big top in a David Lynch dream sequence. The 26-member
vaudeville circus troupe, filled with fire manipulators, trapeze
artists, contortionists, ballerinas and belly dancers, has been
bringing its brand of strange to public and private stages for four
years.

Lucent Dossier

Venture into the shabby-chic underground for a night of festive mayhem
courtesy of LA’s own urban circus freaks, Lucent Dossier, who update
old-school carny acts with a sexy, modern twist. Every Wednesday
night, the posh, nostalgically appointed Edison loosens its tie and
welcomes the unpredictable alt-vaudeville troupe for a bewitching
circus show that boggles even the Absinthe-free mind with burlesque,
trapeze, and magic — all closer to Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge than
the big top you dreamed of joining as a child.

LUCENT DOSSIER TURNS ACROBATICS INTO EROTICS

Deep in the dungeonesque belly of the first private power plant in
downtown Los Angeles, the Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque… spins a
surreal soundtrack and gorgeous dancers turned acrobatics into
erotics. The gritty setting summons a sexy tension in the
post-apocalyptic cabaret.

Troupe members inhabit every hidden pocket of the bar, spinning their
bodies into silky hammocks suspended from high beams, dancing
seductively through the crowd, inviting couples sipping on pomegranate
cocktails to put down their glasses and get their faces painted, or
have their hands washed in a fancy, old-fashioned basin by two
beautiful women who make the soap themselves, as well as the
chili-cognac chocolate that they’ll spoonfeed to you personally.
