Now recognised as one of the leaders of the 90s wave of Chicago house music, Derrick Carter began djing at the age of nine, spinning disco records at family reunions. Carter eventually became a stong presence in Chicago’s underground scene whilst working at dance-music specialty stores like Gramaphone and playing at legendary clubs such as Shelter, Foxy’s, and Smart Bar. Derrick’s sound seamlessly incorporates house, old-school disco, soul and jazz, earning him the respect of critics and fans across the world. His unparalleled dj style coupled with his raw, emotive productions have earmarked him as one of the most influential players in dance music and his own label „Classic“ as one of the most widely-respected labels in the business.

Having notched up 12 Top 40 UK hits, two Top 20 albums and combined sales of more than 6 million since 1987, Detroit based Inner City have rightfully earned the title of „Best Dance Act in the World“. Best known for hit singles „Big Fun“ and „Good Life“ Inner City are often credited with birthing the Detroit techno movement. 2011 saw the group release their latest music to wide critical acclaim proving that their career has been nothing short of remarkable, not only for their numerous critical and commercial achievements, but also for their longevity. Whilst most acts have been snubbed out at the onset of the „next big trend“, Inner City have managed to sidestep the trends, making „songs that went on to become classics“.
