I was there to see Saxon Shore (BK & Philly). I had first listened to them in November 'round CMJ and really liked their soundscapes, melodies, and dynamics. It doesn't translate live though. The melodies are not as interesting live, and while the energy was there at times, it wasn't consistent song to song and player to player. I was definitely disappointed.
Northern Chorus (toronto) was even worse. It was like Saxon Shore added bad vocals, cello, and violin.
Aereogramme (glasgow) wasn't so bad, but I was ready to split after the double disaster that came before. They were much more together though - had 2 better bands opened I probably would have stayed and enjoyed their set.
I do really like Luna Lounge though.
