pOnk (Experimental electronic/Berlin)
pOnk is Frederik Knop, a Berlin based musician and musicologist. He spends most of his day immersed in the field of 20th century music, writing his Phd thesis on the fabulous composer G. Ligeti, while dedicating the rest of his time to ever new ways of composing, producing, and performing music.

pOnk’s latest release Wool and Water (2010 - the tape version is a froggi records split-release with Japanese producer Daisuke Tanabe) is a conceptual EP combining found sounds he recorded during research trips and travels with analogue drum computers, beautiful celesta melodies, and his own voice. The EP caught the attention of several radio stations, websites, and individuals interested in experimental beatmusic, including the L.A. based weditit collective and Byte FM.
pOnk has lately been busy mixing for artists such as Oy, Kid Ikarus, and Consor, producing tracks for bmx, mountainbike blogs (Timo Pritzel) and spoken word performances (Loop Barcelona 2010, Oliver Grimball). Labels he has worked with include the Berlin based tape-label Froggirecords, Creaked Records, Assymetrie, and Love&Hate Records.
pOnk is currently working on a soloalbum that will explore musical elements he loves working with most: experimental field recordings, acoustic instruments, and sophisticated drumbeats. He is, however, not only a solo artist, but also part of Berlins postrock trio mOck, with whom he has recently released some nice vinyl and toured both in the U.S. and across Europe.

KID ICARUS (Fun electronica with fireside punk rock/Berlin)
This is only about wax wings and juvenile recklessness if you want it to be. this is just as well about musical styles that might blurr or alternate, almost pre-designed slipping fingers that might always hit the right key, songs that might sound as if (…), instruments that might get mixed up, out-of-pattern beats that might suit the cats, silliness that might be taken seriously or glove puppets that might become rap stars.
