Tue 10 May – ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Surfer Blood, True Widow
...and you will know us by the trail of dead is well... my favorite band... they been a huge part of my life for more than 10 years now. I had pretty much given up going to shows in this city altogether (outside of basements)... but I just had to go see them again. After everyone I know backed out I reluctantly rode over on my own.
As usual the DC crowd was extremely disappointing. This is the 4th time I have seen ToD... I arrived at the show after the openers finished to find a packed house... and a lot of ladies in floral dresses and heels (?!) I found a spot on the side and listened through the first two songs (newer stuff most likely off last album). No motion... not even heads nodding. Never have I gone to a trail of dead show and not come out bruised and bloodied. I don't really understand... it just makes no sense to me as to why anyone would go to a show, especially a show as notorious as a trail of dead... to just stand around.
