Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will be joined on stage by drummer Mike Byrne, bassist Nicole Fiorentino and guitarist Jeff Schroeder – currently touted by the media as the best Smashing Pumpkins reincarnation yet.
Their most recent work is Teargarden by Kaleidyscope—an in-progress 44-song work, with songs being issued online one at a time for free (4-song physical EPs will be made available as the songs are released).

_pants_ I'm convinced some people go to these shows just so they can get on their soapbox about how terrible they thought it was and that they hated the new songs. You're the people who should 'get over it'. Maybe stop living in the past and learn to look forward and open your ears to new sounds? The shows were amazing. New songs are stupidly good - 'Lonely Is The Name' blew me away everytime.

sunky_ I wouldn't call his stage banter a rant, was just him joking around. If he doesn't talk enough reviewers say he doesn't care about the audience if he jokes around to much it is a rant. Eveything with the Pumpkins is subjective with such a diverse fan base, for me Machina era is one of my favorite eras of the band both in the studio and live. The gig was a great mix of songs, when you consider 21 years of music it is hard to pin point 23 songs to play that covers everything for every fan without being a nostalgia act, especially when they've recorded hundreds of songs (400 or more, Corgan has written). You ask one fan what they want to hear, you then ask the next fan and they'll say 23 other songs. So that idea that there is a perfect setlist out there just can't work. I was so excited they finished with Gossamer, been wanting to hear that for 3 years now live. Sounded fantastic, so epic Pink Floyd sounding and special to only hear it live.

LordKvlt KarbonKid, Adore came out in 1998, so that's 12 years. Machina ---> Zeitgeist are rubbish, but some of the new material isn't too bad. I was a little disappointed they didn't play 1979 and Thirty-three, but it was still a good show.

We actually had a pretty good setlist compared to what they played in other cities. I do agree that most of the new stuff is awful, but the first two songs were pretty decent. It was a good show, but they should start playing the songs the crowd wants to hear, not whatever Billy feels like playing.

frogman242 i loved the naked guy, fun times. after leaving, i was a little disapointed, but upon reflection, it was actually quite good, minus billy's overly long rant, and i feel gossamer went for a bit too long, but i'd go back and see em again, i dont mind some of the new stuff.

KarbonKid Some good stuff, lots of bad stuff. His new material is...terrible, especially Spangled or whatever it's called. He also doesn't know when to shut up, "I'd like to thank me for still writing good songs". When was the last good Pumpkins record? Fourteen years ago? Dammit Billy, let it die

dismal_denizen Corgan had a conversation with a piggy-backing nude guy half way through the concert. The band even posed when he pulled out his camera :p
