The Horatia presents Disco Bloodbath’s Damon Martin for part of the venue’s series of opening launch parties

The Horatia, baptized after the love child of Lady Hamilton & Vice Admiral Nelson, is the labour of love of the team behind Shorditch’s highly successful music venue, The Horse & Groom. Their latest effort is a beautiful 400 capacity traditional London boozer with a bumper 2am licence for plenty of evening decadence and debauchery. The sound system has been salvaged from the old Cross venue as they intend to host some fantastic guests along the way in February with a fantastic array of free nights with guests like James Priestley (Secretsundaze), Steve Proctor, Justin Robertson who will be joining us alongside new exciting residencies from Wandy, Tirk Records’s Ben Terry & Matty J, The Discovery boys, Claremont and many more. Damon Martin

Damon is one-third of the notorious Disco Bloodbath crew who’ve been turning heads with their frenetic take on the disco sound in basements across East London and on dance floors around Europe. Just as happy causing peak-time disco damage as he is sound-tracking the early hours with a box of sleaze, he enjoys a well-earned reputation as an impeccably varied selector who can dig deep with the best of them but isn’t afraid of dropping a big record or two. In the last year or so Damon has rocked discerning UK dance floors at Bugged Out, secretsundaze, Horse Meat Disco, Fabric, Matter, The Warehouse Project, The Big Chill, Lovebox and Bestival, as well as spinning throughout the world in Japan, Berlin, Ibiza, Paris, Dubai, Barcelona, Oslo, Hamburg and more. Look out for his remixes as part of Disco Bloodbath of, to name a few, Franz Ferdinand, Little Boots, The Aliens and The White Lies.

2009 saw Damon launch Channel 83 - a new label and production project in partnership with Gucci Soundsystem’s Ben Rymer. Their first two releases have received plays from the likes of James Murphy (DFA/LCD Soundsystem), Rub n Tug, The Glimmers, Reverso 68 and Mark E
