Better known as one half of The Knife, Karin Dreijer Andersson recorded Fever Ray in 2008 while the brother-sister electronic duo were on hiatus. The Swedish musician released an atmospheric classic; laced with darkness and abstract lyricism, there's a dream-like element to the album which live sets and promo videos have played up, while the monochrome sleeve art became a digital-woodcut, stamping the record into shop windows and scrobble charts.

Trying to pin down Andersson's thoughts on the project seems to be close to impossible. While she strayed a little closer to the music press than The Knife, she kept a lot to herself while promoting Fever Ray, content to let the listeners interpret the meanings and merits of the tracks. What is clear is that many of you seem to be listening to Fever Ray as an album; many tracks have scrobbled similarly, no one 'single' leaping away from the pack. For an artist concerned with the fidelity of the listening experience that's probably how Andersson would want it.
The final Fever Ray show has already been announced, while The Knife are due to release a recording of their composition for electro-opera Tomorrow, In A Year in 2010.
